OBITUARY: 

George Smith, December 24, 1913-April 16, 2004

Willamina – George Smith of Willamina passed away peacefully at his home on April 16, 2004, at the age of 90. George was born in Phoenix, Ariz, on December 24, 1913. He was a WWII veteran. George married his beloved wife, Pearl E. Furlong on May 31, 1932 and they were married for 70 years. They lived in the Willamina area for about 60 years. George worked in the woods for many years, retiring in 1965. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. George was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl in 2002. He is survived by his son, William Smith, granddaughter, Debbie Epley, grandson, Barry Smith and his wife Kim, all of Salem; great-grandchildren, Nick and Pablo Benavidez, and Emily and Kelsey Smith; nephews, Albert and Bob Randis, and Manford Amos. At George’s request, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 4211 in Willamina c/o Adamson’s Sheridan Funeral Home, PO Box 10, Sheridan, OR 97378.
