OBITUARY: 

Memorial services for Jack J. Quiring, 74, of 1155 Alpine Drive NW, who died Monday in Salem Hospital Memorial Unit following a heart attack, will be at 2 pm Thursday in Kingwood Bible Church. Graveside services will follow in Spring Valley Cemetery, Zena. Born in Mountain Lake, Minn, he was reared in Dallas. He worked as a printer in Chicago and, since 1945, as a partner in Quiring Printing Company, Salem. He was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and was a lay pastor of the Spring Valley Community Church. He was active in the Union Gospel Mission, Salem Academy, Salem Singers and the Christian Business Men’s Association. The family suggests contributions in his memory to any of the preceding organizations. He and his wife, Almeda, observed their 49th wedding anniversary Aug 11. Survivors in addition to his wife, include sons, John, Salem, and Jim, Chehalis, Wash; brother, Leander, Salem; sister, Lillian Goertzen, Dallas; and one grandson.
