Funeral for Herbert William Marl, a Gresham resident and retired collector for the Multnomah County LIbrary, will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Gresham Little Chapl of the Chimes. Mr. Marl died Tuesday in a Portland area hospital.
Mr. Marl was born in Portland and was a lifelong resident of the metropolitan area. He attended Highland Grade School and graduated from Benson High School.
Mr. Marl is survived by his wife, Avis M., to whom he was married 42 years; three daughters, Donna Obrist, Gresham, and Patricia Johnson and Linda Conger, both of Portland; a brother, Jim Kennedy, and a sister, Lorraine Polivka, both of Gresham; and six grandchildren.
Burial will be private in the Spring Valley Cemetery in Zena. The family suggest remembrances be conributions to the Easter Seal Society for Crippled Children and Adults of Oregon.
