OBITUARY: 

Cloyd C. “Hasty” Hurd, 84, of 3955 Alana Ave SE, died Wednesday at his home. Born at Richmond, Ind, he lived in Chicago for many years where he was a traveling salesman for a box company for 33 years before retiring in 1958 and moving to Salem. He was a member of Masonic Lodge and sang in choirs for some 60 years. Survivors include widow Frances E.; sons Donaldson and Richard; daughter Mrs Glen Purdon Jr, Salem; a sister, 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be 4 pm Sunday at Morningside Methodist Church. Virgil T. Golden mortuary is in charge. The family suggests contributions to the church.
