Dec 1853 in Oregon, is enumerated with his wife of 14 years, Emilia [Cornelia], age 39,. mother of 3 children 2 of whom are living at the time of the census, b. Mar 1861 in Iowa, along with Jessie, age 13, b. Oct 1886 in Oregon, and Carl [Karl], age 12, b. Oregon.

Harritt (57y, b Oregon, occupation farmer) enumerated with wife of 24 years   Cornelia (49y, b Iowa, mother of 3 children, 2 living at time of census ) and 2 children, Jessie (23y, b Oregon, occupation teacher) and Karl (22y, b Oregon); als with family was hired man Emil Schindler (35y, b Switzerland)

OSBH DC (Polk County 1922) #37 - Byron W. Harriett, farmer, b. 22 Dec 1854 in Oregon, d. 1 Apr 1922 at Rt. 1, Salem, Polk Co., at the age of 68 years 3 mos 12 days, name of father Jesse Harriett (b. Illinois), maiden name of mother Julia Lewis (b. Kentucky), interment Zena.

OBITUARY: 

Byron Harritt died last Saturday evening, another victim of influenza. His father was one of Oregon’s pioneers, and Mr. Harritt was born here, December 22, 1854, spending his entire life in this community. His friends were al [sic] those who knew him. School was closed in his honor, and practically every one in the neighborhood attended his funeral Monday at 2 p.m. in the church at Zena. He was laid to rest in the Zena cemetery among the flowers and tears of his many loved ones and friends. A dark cloud of sorrow hangs over Brush College.
