NOTE - Warren Groom appears in 1930 census of Washington as single. Since Mary's maiden name was Cole, this suggests Stanley may have been her son by a previous marriage and took his step-father's name in later life.

OBITUARY: 

Stanley K. Groom, Oct 1, 1928-Aug 16, 1998

Stanley Groom, 69, of Salem, died Sunday of emphysema. Born in Spokane, Wash, he married Gloria Wallace in 1952. They have lived in Salem since 1955. He worked for Marion County and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Outsiders Camping Club and the Better Breathers Club. Survivors include his wife, Gloria; daughters, Barbara Groom of Keizer and Melinda Wilson of Jefferson; sons, Byron of Bend, and Warren, Stanley, Bill, Mike, Gary, and Joe, all of Salem; brother, George of Inverness, Fla; sister, Sheila Van Ornam of Renton, Wash; three half-brothers and twl half-sisters from California; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visiting will be 4 pm to 8 pm Tusday, and services will be 1 pm Wednesday, both at Virgil T. Golden Chapel in Salem. Interment will be at Spring Valley Cemetery, Salem. Contributions: Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund, 510 Idlewood Dr SE, Salem, Oregon 97302.
