OBITUARY: 

Graveside services for Dorothy Alice Ely, 85, of Salem who died Monday will begin at 1 p.m Thursday in Zena Cemetery.
She was born in Salem and lived in several areas of Oregon before returning to Salem in 1982
She married Walter C. [sic] Kime on Jun 5, 1931; he died March 9, 1951. She then married Charles W. Ely on Nov. 5, 1954 in Tillamook.
She worked as a phyciatric aide at the Oregon State hosptal and the Eastern Oregon State Hospital for more than five years, retiring in 1969.
She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She is survived by her husband; son David Kime of Stayton; stepson, James L. of Milton-Freewarter; step-daughters, Charlene Short of Orlando, Wash., and Tresa Duggy of La Grande; brothers, Joe and Paul Shepard, both of Salem, and David Shepard of Lafayette' sisters, Julia Bassett of Salem, Arden Welch of Portland, and Ruth Wright of Enid, Tenn.; 27 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Arrangements are by Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
