OBITUARY: 
Gladys Leona Steptoe, wife of Loren Steptoe, who resides at Suver, passed away at the Dallas hospital Wednesday morning, July 15, following a brief illness. 
Mrs. Steptoe is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Riley O. Burbank of Pedee. She was born at Pedee April 24, 1904. She was married to Loren Steptoe at Portland, Oregon, December 22, 1923. Besides her husband and her parents she is survived by an infant daughter, Ellen Belle; five sisters, Mrs. Nora Johnson, Newberg, Mrs. Inez Yost, Portland, Mrs. Hattie Dahrns, Sandy; Mrs. Bertha Willett, Monmouth; Miss Virgie Burbank, Pedee; eight brothers, Chester and Ellsworth of Sherwood; Loren of Trout Lake, Washington; Pine O. of Monmouth and Clifford, Levi, Augustus and Orlando, all of Pedee. Funeral services under the direction of A.L. Keeney of Independence will be held at the Womer cemetery near Pedee, Friday, July 17, at 1 o’clock.
