OBITUARY: 

Ruby Bennett, Aug 30, 1914-Jan 14, 1994

Ruby D. Bennett of Pedee died Jan 14 in a Corvallis care center. She was 79. She was born in Hoskins to Byron and Lucinda Blevins Lyda. She married Kenneth Bennett on Sept 6, 1936 in Hoskins. They spent most of their lives in the Corvallis, Pedee and Monmouth areas. She had been a cook at Western Oregon State College, retiring in 1979. A member of the Pedee Memorial Evangelical Church, she enjoyed reading and embroidery. Her husband died on Feb 7, 1988. Survivors include her sons, Pete of Monmouth and Charles of Everett, Wash; daughter, Michelle Mahana of Philomath; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services were held Jan 17 in the Dallas Mortuary Chapel with interment in the Womer Cemetery in Pedee. Contributions may be made to the Philomath Boy Scouts in care of the mortuary.
