OBITUARY: 
Lila Elizabeth Smith, 65, a resident of 16070 Brown Road, Dallas, died Wednesday evening, June 27, at a local hospital. She was born in Gowan, Minn, the daughter of August and Hilma Muller Koskela on Sept. 7, 1913. She married Hardin Smith in Smithfield, Ore. She lived in Smithfield before moving to Dallas in 1948. She was employed by several local canneries and was a member of the Lutheran Church. 
Surviving relatives are her husband Hardin of Dallas; two daughters, Annette Baldwin of Junction City and Sharon Read of Scio; two sisters, Millie Cooper of Ontario, Calif and Ann Rentola of Cromwell, Minn; one brother, Charles Koskela of Floodwood, Minn; along with 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were held Saturday, June 30, at the Bollman Funeral Home with Rev. James Riede officiating. Burial followed in the Brown Cemetery, Dallas.
