OBITUARY:
Monmouth – Laird N. Lindeman, 73, Monmouth, a native of this area, died Saturday in a Salem hospital. A retired dairyman, he was born southwest of here, where he lived until 1942 when he moved to Astoria. He came here from Washington County several years ago and lived at 675 E Main St. Surviving are daughter Mrs Elva Radmaker, Portland; son Leland, Miami, Fla; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 2 pm Tuesday in Smith Cemetery, Rev James Crumpton officiating. Parmenter mortuary, Independence, is in charge.

Laird N. Lindeman, 73, 675 E Main St, Monmouth, died Saturday in a Salem hospital. He was born in Polk County and lived near Maple Grove until 1942 when his dairy farm was absorbed by Camp Adair. He moved to Astoria and then returned to Monmouth from Washington county several years ago. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Elva Radmaker, Portland; a son, Laird, Miami, Florida; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His wife, Alice, died in July 1969. Graveside services were Tuesday in Smith cemetery, Monmouth with Rev James Crumpton officiating. Parmenter mortuary was in charge of the services.
