OBITUARY: 
Betty Jane (Cole) Ray, January 16, 1923-September 26, 2011 Salem – Betty was born January 16, 1923 in Clatskanie, Ore, to William and Myrtle Cole. She grew up in the Portland area and graduated from high school there. In 1941 Betty married Emmett Ray and moved to Roseburg, Ore. They later divorced. Betty moved to the Lincoln City area in 1955. Betty worked as a cook/manager for the Delake, Taft Elementary and Taft High Schools for 23 years and for 23 consecutive summers as Registration Clerk at Devils Lake State Park in Lincoln City, Ore. Upon retiring, Betty moved to Monmouth, Ore and later to Salem, Ore. Betty is survived by her daughter, Carol Wiscarson of Salem, Ore; grandsons, Mike Wiscarson (Heather) of Salem, Ore, Gene Wiscarson (Jill) of Quilcene, Wash; six great-grandchildren; niece, Martha Agee (Ron) of McMInnville, Ore; nephew, Wayne Cole (Nancy) of Yamhill, Ore; and special family member, Philip Beilke of Brooks, Ore. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Cole Jr and sister, Lorraine Cole. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Regency Woodlands, Serenity Hospice and Dr Julie Gibert for their loving care of Mom this past year. Graveside services will be held at Smith Cemetery in Monmouth on Saturday, October 1. Arrangements entrusted to Keizer Funeral Chapel.
