OBITUARY: 
G.J. Hiebenthal, 75, of 14995 Elkins Road, Monmouth, died at his home on Saturday, June 27. He was born in Randolph, Neb, on Sept 12, 1905, the son of August and Frieda Zurcher Hiebenthal. The family moved to Salem in 1907 and later to the Dallas-Monmouth area in 1912. He married Beatrice Embree on March 11, 1933 in the Lewisville Evangelical Church. During World War II the farm was part of Camp Adair and the Hiebenthal family returned to the farm in 1948. Mr Hiebenthal was a member of the Evangelican Church of North America in Dallas. Surviving are his wife Beatrice of Monmouth, daughters Zora Ann McClintock of Vancouver, Wash and Patricia Hiebenthal of Los Angeles, Calif, brother Joseph Hiebenthal, sisters Adaline Dyck and Della Rempel, all of Dallas, along with three grandchildren. Services were Tuesday, June 30 in the Bollman Funeral Home with the Revs Steven Watkins and Daniel Rowell officiating and burial was in the Smith cemetery in Monmouth. Those who desire may contribute to the Monmouth Ambulance fund or the Evangelical Church of North America memorial fund.
