NOTES: Fifteen or twenty years ago an old gentleman, Daniel Griffith by name, was buried in Monmouth or Independence. He came here shortly before from Iowa and lived with a married sister at the time of his death. Now his daughter is trying to locate his burial place but does not know the name of the married sister. Does anyone have any information on this matter?

In reply to the inquiries last week concerning the burial place of one Daniel Griffith we have received the following from C.E. Staats of Dallas: “Daniel Griffith was buried in the Lewisville cemetery. J.J. Leveck of Lewisville can show anyone the grave. For further particular write F.M. Water at Airlie, Oregon or John Water, Fall City.”

NOTE - Daniel Griffith is buried in the same plot as William & Mary Turner. Mary was a sister of Francis & John Waters. Their parents, Edward & Sarah Waters, are buried in Dallas cemetery. The maiden name of Sarah Waters (1813-1905) was Griffith, so she was probably the "married sister" with whom Daniel was living at the time of his death.
