OBITUARY: 
John Glasener Dies En Route to Chicago
Employe Valley & Siletz Machine Shops, Hoskins, and Former Engineer.
Funeral services are to be held at the Smith cemetery this morning at 9:30 o’clock for John A. Glasener of Hoskins who died on a Union Pacific train while en route to Chicago July 4. Death occurred as the train was approaching North Platte, Nebraska. He was on his way to Chicago for a visit with relatives. Mr. Glasener was 73 years old. He was born in Indiana March 30, 1858. His wife died at Hoskins in March 1927. 
Mr. Glasener was a locomotive engineer and had been employed for the past eight years by the Valley & Siletz railroad, the most of the time in the shops at Hoskins. 
He was a member of the Ft. Harrison lodge, IOOF, of Terre Haute, Ind. 
The remains were shipped to the Keeney funeral home at Corvallis and the funeral service was conducted by the Kings Valley lodge of Odd Fellows. 
Mr. Glasener is survived by two sisters and two brothers.
