1900 OR CENSUS - Thomas J. Sullivan, age 67, occupation farmer, b. Oct 1832 in Missouri, is enumerated with his wife of 36 years, Sarah C., age 50, mother of 8 children, b. May 1850 in Oregon, along with Ira H., age 22, single, occupation farmer, b. Aug 1877 in Oregon, Thomas J., age 19, single, b. Apr 1881 in Oregon, Elva R., age 15, b. May 1885 in Oregon, and Sussie L., age 6, b. Oct 1893 in Oregon. Also enumerated with the family is Parmas P. Hooker, age 84, identified as father-in-law [of Thomas, Sr.], widow, b. Dec 1816 in New York.
DISCREPANCY - Obit gives place of birth as Arkansas, 1900 census gives place of birth as Missouri.

OBITUARY: 
Thomas Sullivan was born in Arkansas, October 30, 1832. With his parents he went to Missouri when a child, and in 1852 crossed the plains to California. He next came to Polk county, Oregon, where he married Miss Sarah Hooker in 1863. To this union were born eight children – three sons and five daughters. He departed this life at his home in Cooper Hollow, May 11, 1907, at the age of 64 years [sic - 74], 6 months and 11 days. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev K.H. Sicafoose at the residence and burial took place in the Montgomery cemetery, on the Luckiamute river near Lewisville.
