Mrs Samuel McBeth (Hattie Sullivan) was born at Lewisville August 7, 1870, and died at the Dallas hospital June 14. She was married to Samuel McBeth over 30 years ago. With the exception of a few years spent at Independence she had lived her entire life near Lewisville, her last home being in McTimmonds Valley. Mrs McBeth had a siege of the flue this spring, and it is believed her death was caused from after-effects of that disease. She is survived by her widowed, Samuel McBeth; three sons, John, Ira and William; three daughters, Mrs John Lewis, MrsPete Burbank and Margaret McBeth; three brothers, George, Ira and Tom Sullivan,a nd four sisters, Mrs Julia Miller, Mrs Jennie Ashford, Mrs Wilbur Rhodes and Mrs Charlie Trueax. She did not regain her health and was taken to the Dallas hospital for treatment shortly preceding her death. There were beautiful flowers and many sorrow friends at the burial service, indicative of the niche she had filled in the affairs of the community where she had resided for many years. Mr McBeth is a brother of C. McBeth of Independence.
