OBITUARY: 
Sarah C. O’Neil was born in Polk county, Oregon, August 11, 1858, and died in Portland April 28, 1926.  She was a daughter of pioneer parents, her father coming to Oregon in 1834 and her mother in 1844.  She leaves three sisters and one brother. They are: Mrs. Mary E. Denning of Elmira, Oregon; Mrs. Nancy A. Denning of Seattle, Washington; Mrs. Artemissie E. Mathews of Ocean Park, Washington; and Morris J. Riggs of Devitt, Oregon. Funeral services were held at the Riggs home, near Bridgeport, conducted by Rev A. P. Layton of the Dallas Evangelical church and interment was in the old Riggs cemetery.

Mrs. [sic - Miss] Sarah C. O’Neil, a native of Polk county, who was born here on August 11, 1858, was buried Thursday, April 29, in the Heart [Hart] cemetery near Bridgeport. Mrs. O’Neil was a member of the pioneer Riggs family, her father coming to Oregon in 1834 and her mother in 1844.  Mrs. O’Neil died in Portland April 28. Funeral services were conducted at the Riggs home near the cemetery by Rev A. P. Layton of the Evangelical church.  Mrs. O’Neil is survivied by three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Mary E. Denning, Elmira, Mrs. Nancy A. Denning, Seattle, Washington, Mrs. Artemissie E. Matthews, Ocean Park, Washington, and Morris J. Riggs, Devitt.
