OBITUARY: ATTEMPS TO SAVE RIGGS BABY FAILS
Attemps to hold the spark of life in a tiny baby born Wednesday night to Mr. and Mrs. George Riggs in the Gilliam Community with the fire department lungmotor failed this mornings and the infant died. A call came about 4:00 o'clock from the nurse in charge and the Fire Chief Young. Frank L. Davis, Glenn Holt and Ray Syron rushed the lungmotor to the Riggs home.
They worked for about two hours but were unable to keep life in the child. Last winter, using a machine borrowed from Salem the life of a child was saved when stricken with pneumonia.
