OBITUARY:
A. R. Bell, 54, of Portland, a former resident of Dallas, was fatally injured Tuesday as the result of an attack by Jack Reece, 49, a longshoreman.  Reece, according to newspaper accounts, attacked Bell without warning after Bell had been given a job from which Reece had been fired.  Bell was knocked down, his head striking the pavement, causing a skull fracture.  Mr. Bell is a brother of Mrs. Walter Bird of Dallas, and of the late Mrs. Marshall Nealley, who passed away here a few weeks ago.  His widow resides in Portland.  A brother D. D. Bell resides in Las Vegas, N.M. and another brother O. J. Bell in Dallas.  The family were pioneer Bridgeport residents.  Mr. Bell left Dallas 17 years ago. The body is being brought to Dallas today by Henkle & Thomas, and the funeral will be held Saturday at 2:00 at the chapel with burial in the Riggs cemetery.  Manslaughter charges have been filed against Reece.
