BIOGRAPHICAL - Ivan and Esther Nisly of Independence are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house from 2 to 5 pm on Sunday, March 4. It will be held at the Price of Peace Mennonite Church, 7234 NE Arnold Avenue in Adair Village near Corvallis. Esther Burkey and Ivan Nisly were married on March 1, 1951 in Beaver Crossing, Neb. Ivan is a farmer and Esther is a homemaker. The couple is active in the Prince of Peace Mennonite Church Their children include (Harley) Jay Nisley of Independence, Terry Nisly of Falls City, Tena Davis of San Antonio, Texas and Wanita Slabach of Middlebury, Ind. The couple has eight grandchildren. The sharing of memories and musical program will begin at 3 pm. Friends and relatives of the couple are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.
