OBITUARY: 
Harvey Eugene Murphy, 63, of 675 E Jackson St, Monmouth, died at home Saturday, Aug 18. He was born in Boy River, Minn, Jan 4, 1921. A resident of Monmouth since 1983, he moved here from LaPine, Ore, where he had worked as a sawyer until his retirement in 1977. 
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in LaPine. Surviving relatives include his wife, Alma J. of Monmouth; sons, Patrick of Newport, Wash, Michael and John, both of Monmouth; daughters, Ellyn Fitzgerald of Dallas, Evelyn Goodman, Emelie Mouser and Elaine Murphy, all of Albany, Eunice Torgeson of Newberg, and Elma Bice of Moss, Miss; brothers, David Rains of Lebanon and Richard Rains of Orange, Calif; sisters, Alyce Tucker and Rosemary Kindall, both of Portland, Frances Beam of Salem and Evelyn Amburst of Duluth, Minn; also 17 grandchildren. 
Graveside services were held at 11 am Wednesday, Aug 22, at the English Cemetery, Monmouth, with Rev Jerry Emra officiating. Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence, was in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made to the World Vision, PO Box 0, Pasadena, Calif 91109.
