Lisa JaNene Stewart March 31, 1963 - October 16, 2008
SALEM - Lisa Stewart passed away peacefully October 16, 2008 after a long and painful battle with cancer. Lisa was born on March 31, 1963 to Wayne H. and Marcia D. Bond of Monmouth, Oregon. After some years in Eastern Oregon, the family moved to Albany, Oregon. Lisa graduated from West Albany High School in 1981, and attended Southern Oregon College, Ashland, Oregon and Oregon State University, Corvallis. She worked for Oregon Department of Transportation until leaving due to illness, in Spring 2008. Lisa loved the water and swimming. She swam with both the Albany Aquatics Swim Team and West Albany High School Swim Team, winning many medals and awards. She swam the Butterfly stroke on a winning relay team with a record that held for over 10 years. She loved music and played piano and some guitar. She was a big family person, especially enjoying family gatherings and being at the Bond family farm. Lisa married Shawn Stewart of Ipswich, Australia, on the 27th of March, 1986. They lived in Australia and had one son, Kyle. A few years later, Lisa and her son returned to the U.S. and the marriage was dissolved in 1992. Lisa later married Shawn M. Drew and they moved to Salem where she remained the rest of her life. That union brought a son, Wyatt, and daughters, Reilly and Molly. In 2004, the marriage ended and she became a working single mom. Lisa was a member of Morning Star Community Church. Her faith and friends were a blessing to her, offering a lot of support, especially through her illness. Lisa is survived by her children; sons, Kyle S. Stewart and Wyatt M. Drew; and daughters, Reilly A. and Molly O. Drew. Also her parents, Wayne and Marcia Bond; brother and sister-in-law, Darren and Sheri Bond; niece, Sarah J. Bond; and nephew, Eli H. Bond, all of Salem. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 19 at Morning Star Church. There will be a private family burial later. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society of America in care of Farnstrom Mortuary, 410 Monmouth St. Independence, Ore.
