Norma ‘Jonny’ Borlin, July 3, 1940-March 15, 1998
Norma “Jonny” J. Borlin of Salem died March 15 in the Salem Hospital. She was 57. Born in White Sulphur Springs, Mont, to Norman and Shirley Butler Hand, she graduated from St Helens High School in 1958. After her marriage to Edward Borlin they lived in Deer Island Washington from 1958 to 1973. From there they moved to Monmouth and then to the Salem area in 1983. A 4-H leader for 11 years, she was the PTA president when the kids were in school. A member of the Monmouyth First Christian Church, she enjoyed crafts and bowling and was described as a good listener. Survivors include her husband Edward Borlin of Salem; sons, Edward Borlin Jr of Anacortes, Wash, Larry Borlin of Portland and Bradley Borlin of Las Vegas; a daughter, Tina Jensen of Salem; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, March 18 at Monmouth First Christian Church. Vault interment will follow at English Cemetery in Monmouth. Farnstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
