Oct 1843 in Arkansas, is enumerated with his wife of 38 years Mahala E., age 55, mother of 9 children 8 of whom are living at the time of the census, b. Dec 1844 in Missouri, along with Albert H., age 28, widowed, occupation laborer, b. Jul 1871 in Oregon, Frederick R., age 26, b. Dec 1873 in Oregon, and Thomas S., age 20, b. Feb 1880 in Oregon.

OSBH DC (Linn County 1928) #75 - Albert Hezekiah Simpson, male, occupation farmer (retired), widowed (Alvina [Elvira] May Simpson), b. 8 Oct 1843 in Arkansas, d. 31 Mar 1928 in Albany, Oregon (1030 E. 3rd St.) at the age of 84 yrs, 4 ms, 25 days, name of father I. Simpson (b. Arkansas), maiden name of mother R. Lassiter , lived in town 27y; bur Airlie [English cem]; informant Mrs. C.H. Freitag, Rt 3, Albany.
OBITUARY: 

Albert H. Simpson, 84, Polk county pioneer of 1845, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Rose Herron, at Albany Saturday night and was buried Monday morning. The body was taken to Airlie for burial. 
Mr. Simpson was born in Arkansas October 8, 1843, and crossed the plains by ox team with his parents, locating in Polk county. He fought in various Indian wars and was a member of the Albanty GAR post. He had been a member of the Methodist church for 50 years. Three daughters and one son survive. The daughters, in addition to Mrs. Herron, are Mrs. Maude Freitag of Oakville and Mrs. Etta Henshaw of Dallas. The son is Rev W.E. Simpson of Independence.
